I ran into a male friend of mine, who I hadn't seen for a couple years, at an event (he is 20 - 22 years younger than me) and people thought we were together. He didn't mind them thinking that and I was flattered that the age gap wasn't obvious. That sure made my day!!  Katherine, Canada

Thank you so much for sending my lip pump to me!  You have saved my 'look', so I can go to work, or just be out in public with confidence.  Allyson - Las Vegas

Your eyes should be the focal point of your makeup.  They are the first feature to be noticed.  The general rule of color is, the darker the eye the deeper the eye product.  Darker skin tends to absorb color.  Use rich colors like gold, deep grays, violets, coppers, navy and browns.  Light colored eyes look best in taupe, light grays, ginger, khaki and blues.

Here's how to achieve a simple polished look for the eyes.  You will need to choose three similar shades of eye shadow (e.g. taupe, light brown and espresso brown.

1.  Apply the lightest shade (taupe) from lash line to brow.

2.  Apply the medium shade (light brown) from the lash line to just above the crease.

3.  Use an eyeliner brush with the dark eye shadow (espresso) to line around the lash line.

To keep eye shadow from creasing, first dust the eyelid with face powder.  It creates an oil-free surface to ensure that the shadow goes on smoothly.

Here are some eyeliner application tips.

For Close-Set Eyes :
Line outer third of the upper lids with eye liner (pencil liner works best).  Smudge gently.  Use a lighter colored liner or eye shadow on the inner eye to widen the space between eyes.

Small Eyes:
Draw a dark line gradually thickening at the outer edge of the eye.  Use a light-colored pencil (gold, silver or white) and draw under the lower lash.

Deep-Set Eyes:
Line upper lash line with a pale, shimmery liner.  Then line the outer edge of the lower lash with a soft, neutral shade (gray or taupe).  This will create the illusion of a less heavy eye lid.

Drooping Eyes:
Line the outer third of the eye very close to the eye lashes, carefully sweeping the liner up at the corner of the eye.

Curling:
Always curl your eyelashes.

A good trick is to heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer for a few seconds.  This will turn your eyelash curler into a mini curling iron for your lashes.  Be careful not to heat the curler too hot, and always check it on your hand before you put it near your eyes.  Curl twice for a rounded curl.  Place the open curler near the lash roots and arrange your lashes between the two rims.  Squeeze gently for ten seconds, then squeeze at mid-lash for another ten seconds.  This will give a natural look.

Follow with mascara.

If you choose to do a dramatic eyes it's better to use a lighter color on your lips.  Focus on one feature at a time.   If the eyes are "the windows to the soul", why not dress them up!

This Fall, lips are coming into focus. I'm going to give you tips on how to get the perfect lips whatever your lip issues are.

For those with full lips:

1. Apply foundation around lips to give a precise look without lip liner.

2. Full lips really don't need lip liner, but if you like the look, soften the edge with your finger.

3. Don't wear any lip color that is too glossy or shiny.

4. Be sure to exfoliate your lips. Take your toothbrush and once a week use it brush over your lips. It will help to smooth out the surface if your lips and ensure that your lip color goes on smoothly.

For those with thin lips:

1. Draw slightly beyond the lip with a neutral-colored lip pencil. Then apply your lipstick. Your lipstick will "catch" onto your liner.

2. Apply white eye shadow on the center of your lips over the lipstick and spread slightly. This will give the illusion of fuller lips. Then follow with gloss.

3. Don't wear a very dark shade of lipstick. It makes the lips look smaller.

Here are some tips to keep your lipstick on all day.

1. Apply a lip balm

2. Line your lips with a neutral-colored lip pencil. A dark pencil will leave a ring on your lips as your lipstick fades throughout the day.

3. Apply lip color.

4. Blot with tissue.

5. Hold a one ply tissue over the lips and brush loose powder over lip area.

6. Press lips together to absorb powder.

Using lipstick to help teeth look whiter

If you have a grey tinge to your teeth, wear warm shade lipsticks, like bronze or copper. To whiten yellow teeth, choose blue-based shades of red, raspberry, and wine.

Lips are very important as far as your total look goes. Beautiful look lips bring a truly youthful look to the face, but don't forget to smile.

My name is Agustina Crespo.  I am 42 years old, married and the mother of two boys ages 6 and 14.  At the urgency of my husband (I was always in the mirror), I studied at the American Beauty School, located in the Bronx, and obtained my cosmetology license.

After working in a hair salon for several years as a Hairstylist, I was fortunate enough to get a job with a local television show called Bronxnet as a Make-up Artist.  I work both behind the scenes as well as a guest where I share home recipes that address beauty issues.

I have been doing Facial Magic diligently for the past two years.  I have seen first hand what women who have had plastic surgery done look like without make-up and it's not a pretty sight.  I am determined to use Facial Magic and grow older naturally and beautifully.

I think my biggest inspiration in life has been my grandmother, who at the age of 89 still looks stunning.  My grandmother raised nine children and always managed to look amazing.  Coming from Puerto Rico, she spoke little English and had few resources.  What she did have was a desire to always look her best and a deep sense of pride in herself.  I can remember, as a little girl, seeing my grandmother use avocado, olive oil, even Crisco in her beauty rituals.  She would wash dishes and use the steam from the water to give herself a mini facial at the same time.  Watching her growing up made me feel like there is no need to use lack of time or money as an excuse to let oneself go.  That attitude is the driving force that I try to live my life with everyday.
